Night Visitor and Mom
As my Mom layed in the hospital bed
She was so sick, and had to be fed
The family stayed day and night
And so did an Angel, with a glowing light
She was ready to leave this world she said
Mom was tired of fighting, and lying in bed
But to let her go , I could not see
And it became hard for me to sleep
One night in the hospital, as I sat in my chair
Up at the ceiling, was an Angel of care
He was looking down upon us
And I knew his love I could trust
Please don't take her right now I thought
Let us have sometime together, and walk
One more time hand in hand
As a mother and daughter, as the beginning was planned
I knew it was not going to be long
But she did start to look a bit more strong
And she was able to walk a bit
But a couple of steps and that was it
This Angel left us along that night
And I never seen him again in flight
The angel gave me time with Mom
And we had time together, and I had won
Mom went to a nursing home after a month
To have therapy, to get strong, to go home
She was doing better as we could see
But was so weak, from not being able to eat
She seemed to get weaker as time went by
And after a while she couldn't even try
The Angel came like a thief in the night
And Mom left us for her heavenly flight
God has given her a new home
And she will never be left along
To struggle in this world no more
She has won the key that unlocks the door
We will miss you Mom, but we understand
That our life here, is like grains of sand
That slips away and then we are gone
To live with God in our new home
The Angel of death is not bad
He is given a job that makes us sad
And with Love he cradle"s Gods child
Our Mom went away for only a while
Our Mom will always be in our heart
Even though from us she had to part
She is still with us in so many ways
And one more lesson we learned that day
We are not given life for long
God gives us life and makes us strong
So how we live here on earth
Will depend on our second birth
